Layout | Spirit of New York at Madame Tussauds New York Museum

Hi! Today I have another scrapbook layout that features March 2013 Main Kit from 3 Scrappy Boys. This kit is filled with the beautiful collection from Jenni Bowlin "Modern Mercantile", a complete roll of Maya Road fabric tape, Basic Grey metal caps, American Craft "Sketchbook" alphabet thickers among so many other beautiful and versatile embellishments.

Here is the second of three layouts I had already created with the kit:
I love the feeling and colors of Modern Mercatile so much. So warm and fresh that I could not avoid to use it for our photos from our last trip to New York.

The only parts used that are not part of the kit are SU! craft whisper white ink and Ranger Stickles in Lime Green that were applied to Maya Road chipboad camera and the white cardstock used to mat the photo.

Some close-ups:
During Summer we went to New York just before returning to Puerto Rico. One of the day trips to New York was the visit to Madame Tussauds New York Museum. We had a lot of fun over there, even though we found this museum to be extremely expensive. One time is just enough.

Thanks for stopping by!

  2. Read Designed for Devotion up to March 31.

Layout | Yankees Stadium

Welcome to the weekend! Today I am sharing my take in the monthly sketch contest at PageMaps. I love Becky's sketches and this one is not an exception.
I used March 2013 Main kit from 3 Scrappy Boys. The Main kit features Jenni Bowlin Modern Mercantile. Love the colors from the patterned papers. All supplies came with the kit except the white cardstock used to mat the photo and the brown ink and the blue Copic marker used to color the veneer star. I love the Maya Road fabric tape that came with the kit. So many possibilities.

The photo shows my Dad and my two kids at the Yankees Stadium. This was before the start of the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees's game. Following a rain delay of more than 2 hours the Yankees lost the game 8 to 6. However, this was of my Dad's dream goals made possible {going to the Yankees's stadium and presence a game with his grandsons}. So happy that an activity was crossed off from the bucket list considering the surrounding circumstances.

Project Life 2013 | Week 7

Here is a look at our week 7. This week covers from February 11 to February 17. Valentine's Day was on Wednesday. You can see my weekly goals for Week 7, here. Here, you can see how I did it.

The complete spread:
There is lots of red on purpose. I used Simple Stories "Snap Life" 4X6 Journaling Card Elements #1 and two patterned papers from Authentique "Lovely". I added stickers for journaling, for embellishment (the sentiment sticker) and to describe the card used for the title.

This is the left side:
I added all the cards that my kids received at school from Valentine's Day. I found out that my DH is not in the spread. I forgot to take photos from all of us. On Wednesday, I prepared a delicious dinner, but I did not take the camera. Not good! Sometimes, life is so fast that I forget to keep those beautiful life's moments.

This is the right side:
You can see more Valentine's cards here, too. I used Design D divided sheet protectors since I had too many 4"X6" vertical photos. I included one self-portrait photo and the three photos in the bottom were taken during the weekend. I need to remind myself to take more landscape photos.

I am loving to browse my album and how it is coming together. So that's is for Week 7. How are you doing with Project Life?

I am linking to The Mom Creative.

Have a nice weekend!

Layout | Lago Luchetti

Today, I am sharing this layout made with Simple Stories "Take a Hike" collection. This layout is about the afternoon we spent at Lago Luchetti. This lake is located in Yauco, Puerto Rico. We went to see this beautiful lake while we stayed at Monte del Estado last November. We wanted to rent Kayaks but the only ones available belonged to the township. Those were only to be use by the township employees. So, sad!

The background consists from patterned paper  Happy Trails   and I used the 12 X 12 fundamental stickers for the embellishments. The alphabet is from the expression stickers included in this collection. I love that it includes four (4) different alphabet sets.

Thanks for stopping by!

Project Life 2013 | Week 6

Hi! Today, I am sharing Week 6 from my Project Life album. This week covers: February 4 to February 10.

This is the double page spread:
I used Echo Park: Photo Freedom.

This is the left side:

I included one self portrait photo just after one of my jogging activities. I realized that there were no photos of myself in the previous Project Life spreads. The next photo shows Diego doing homework while Luis is swimming. The rest of the photos show the current book I am reading and Diego celebrating the 100 days class at school.

This is the right side:
Luis had his first Swim Meet during the weekend of February 9/10. He did an outstanding job and loved the competitive thrill. We are very proud of his achievements. He did 50m freestyle, 50m backstroke and 100m freestyle. On Sunday, we had to split since Diego had a basketball game in Canovanas while Luis had the Swim Meet. So, I missed Luis 100m freestyle event but I was able to enjoy Diego's participation at the basketball game. On Sunday evening, there was a local 5K race. I ran that race with Luis and Diego. We did 39:59 on the 5K.  Oh yes! We are enjoying spending our time doing sports! I really love this life's stage of our family!

Wishing everyone a great week!

Project Life 2013 | Week 5

Here is my Week 5 spread which covers from January 28 to February 3:

I used Simple Stories "Awesome" collection.  I wrote some weekly goals and documented my accomplishments too.

Here is the left side:
During the week my son had a cold therefore he did not go to swimming practices. This made our afternoon easier, so we could relax and stay at home. On Tuesday I took care of the son of one of my best girl friends which I enjoyed a lot since my kids are bigger. On Wednesday I did grocery shopping and I took a photo from a book Diego chose from Scholastics and Luis is currently reading.

This is the right side:

All the photos included in the right side are from the weekend. We were pretty busy since on Saturday, we had a basketball game in the morning. Then we had lunch at Plaza. Then, we saw "Cirque du Soleil" movie in the afternoon. It was the only PG rated showing movie and it was super boring. I really do not recommend it.

On Sunday, we had another basketball game. Then, we went to the track and field to do a little bit of exercise all the four of us. We did interval training with the kids. During the evening we created the Diego's T-shirt for the coming "100 Days" activity at school. We attached 98 foam glitter stars.

So that is our weekend in a nutshell. I am linking this post to one of the Project Life Tuesday posts from The Mom Creative.

Have a great weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

Layout | I Love My Family

Happy Valentine's Day! I wish you a great day filled with love, friendship, hugs, kisses, chocolates and lots of red and pink. I want to share with you this layout created for the Monthly DT Challenge at 3 Scrappy Boys. This is February Challenge #1. I chose the current sketch from Sketchbook365 Sketch Challenge blog based on a layout by designer Yvonne Yam. This is my take in the sketch:

I used the new collection from Echo Park "Love Notes". This collection is gorgeous. I could not help it but to use it for these wedding photos from last November. I love the different patterns and shades of red and pinks and this collection does not screams Valentine's so you can use it to document your love for your family or significant ones everyday of the year. The supplies I used for the above layout were part from the design kit I received with store product which I loved it too.

I am linking this layout to Sketchbook365 sketch challenge blog.

February kits are now for sale in the 3 Scrappy Boys store and they are amazing. Two of them feature the new collection from Glitz "Color Me Happy". I do not have samples to show you here since this month is my non-kit however my DT friends will post their gorgeous projects pretty soon in the Gallery

I recommend to check the store since there is a free shipping offer today:
Our gift to you-free shipping on all orders over $50! US orders only up to $12.35. International orders will receive up to a $12.35 discount on shipping.

Simply use code VALENTINE at checkout to receive.

Happy Valentines's Day!

Here is Week 4 from Project Life. This week covers: January 21 to January 27.

This is the left side:

My husband sent me a photo from his work trip to Canada. The week was full of school homework, swim practices and basketball practices.

    Layout | Today & Tomorrow & Forever

This is the second layout I made with January 2013 Add-On from 3 Scrappy Boys
This kit features papers from Pink Paislee "Portfolio". The journaling diecut and the title was cut out from one of the patterned papers. I loved those Studio Calico wood veneers, so much that I left as they came. I attached one of them to the Heidi Swapp instaframe with some hidden journaling.
She is my beloved sister Yessica. I took this photo on Thanksgiving's Day 2011 (just was month before starting the cancer's battle). I still not believe that she is not longer with us here in earth. I miss her so much...
    Yara

    Layout | Penn Museum

This month I was assigned January 2013 Add-On kit from 3 Scrappy Boys Kit Club which included some gorgeous papers from Pink Paislee "Portfolio" collection with some beautiful flowers and other embellishments. This kit was so fun and inspiring! I loved playing with the muted color tones and combining the double-sided patterns.
While waiting for my kit from the post office, I looked for photos that would work well with the patterned papers. I chose all my pictures with warm yellow and faded backgrounds. I got portraits, beach photos, museum photos, travel photos, boys...you can mame it! This kit is so versatile!

    Here is what I created:

I added the American Crafts alphabet thickers from my stash (Paperback Fabric Stickers) and white cardstock. If you want to recreate this, there is Step by Step instructions from "Penn Museum" scrapbook layout included in 3 Scrappy Boys January newsletter.

The photos are from our visit to Penn Museum at Philadelphia last summer. We loved this museum since it has one of the largest collections of Egyptian artifacts in U.S. We were surprised that it was practically empty especially in the summer when we had to escape from the summer heat. If you are a long time follower you already know that our family loves everything from Ancient History in special Egypt.
See you soon with another layout and a week of Project Life using these papers! Thanks for stopping by!

    Project Life 2013 | Week 3

Week 3 is completed! I admit that I struggle with printing photos and taking the time to create the spread and share it! Here is a look at our week (Jan 14 to Jan 20):
Week 3 wraps up the start of school, swim team practices, basketball practices, the cool weather, reading, celebration of Diego's birthday (one at the basketball court and another at home with close friends and family), our day trip to Lago Dos Bocas to eat at El Fogon de la Abuela (the food is delicious) and Caguana Indigenous Ceremonial Park

The right side includes photos just from the weekend. I included the photos I liked the most like the three 4" X 6" vertical photos on top. Sorry for the glare. I loved filling the little pockets with patterned paper scraps. I used Fancy Pants "It's Your Day" collection, KI Memories alphabet stickers and Sassafras flower. I am really liking how I am using some of my stash for this project.

I am linking to The Mom Creative.
