Weekend Recap, Two Layouts and a Card

Hi! Happy Monday! How was your weekend? Mine was busy but very good!!

I spent last saturday scrapbooking at the Scrapper's Place Event and had a fabulous time! I met so many nice and talented scrappers, took two advanced classes, learned new techniques, ate wonderful food and just had fun!

So happy to take classes with my friend Marilyn Rivera, she is so talented, and she is so nice. If you just drool at her layouts in the computer. Let me tell you, you just have to see them in person, they are truly works of art! simply amazing! I just wish to have just half of her talent!

I loved the class from the other teacher Yanitza Ramos, too! Loved her class with the distress inks. Her cards and layouts and the coloring with the Magnolia stamped dolls is simply amazing!

We received three classes to go. Love all the supplies and pdf files provided. Looking forward to work on my layouts this month.

I want to thanks Rebeca, the owner of Scrapper's Place, for doing this event. It was fabulous! Looking forward for next year already!

Only if, I not had to leave at 5pm from the event! I had a two hours drive, just to see one of my favorite singers of all times, Luis Miguel on that same saturday. I went with my DH and had an amazing time!

On the scrapping note, I have two layouts to share with you today and a card.

First is my take on the sketch #254 from Scrapbook Challenges. If you have a patterned paper die cut with bracket shape, you should see this sketch! I used My Little Shoebox, Farmer Market collection. I am submitting this layout to the MLS Farmer's Market Challenge.
This was the perfect collection to document the favorite breakfast from my youngest son: scrambled eggs with olive oil with yellow cheese and honey crackers. I prepare this on the weekends, since it is his first request specially on sundays mornings. I tell you, he really eats, just that he has a very fast metabolism. How fortunate!

Second, I am sharing another fast layout I did for My Scrapbook Nook Virtual Crop, last weekend. I just did one layout for challenge #1: Go wild with quotes.
I just copied the same quote provided in the challenge on this Basic Grey patterned paper. It is a quote I love to read. By creating this layout, I confronted my fears of stamping, and the photo of me at the beach in the background represents the so large creative world, I could miss, if I do not confront my fears. So let stamp more frequently!!

I just stamped, without worrying, if stamps were very well inked, or if I had a well alignment. I just stamped with my heart content. It was really liberating.

Third is my card, that was revealed for Scrapbookers Anonymous, May Challenge. I created this card last week, before the event. I just had not the chance to share it in my blog.
It was a real challenge for me too.
The objective is to encourage using the scraps from the layout used for the challenge and make a card using stamping.
The scallop circle was stamped with a background stamp. This was easy! The hardest part was the stamped flower. The flower was stamped and cut. Really need to use what I learned at the event. The sentiment "you make me happy" was stamped too with brown ink.

I used my scraps from Little Yellow Bicycle, Twig and the stamps are from Stampin' Up!
There is still time to participate in this challenge for a very nice prize featuring Tim Holtz supplies.
This challenge is due on May 31.

This is everything until now. Hope to see you getting your stamps too!
Wishing you a fabulous week!

The colors on the mls are so fun and bright and the way you pieced the die cut. very unique.. and I don't think you should be afraid of stamping. =) it's great and I love that photo of you on the beach.
