Today, I am posting my take in the Lily Bee sketch challenge. The sketch was created by Virginia Tillery.
I do not have the new collections from Lily Bee, yet.
But I was very happy to use my paper's leftovers from an old time favorite "Catching Fall".
I created this layout with some photos from our trip to Reims, France in 2009. I created the paper flowers with the help of this great tutorial posted in Lily bee blog. One of the challenges at 3 Scrappy Boys Kit club forum consists to create paper flowers according to this tutorial.
The fabric flowers are from Prima Moulin Rouge.
Yesterday was the reveal of sketch #248 at Scrapbook Challenges ning site. This was my take on this sketch by Jowilna.
I admit that I was not feeling creative at all during the weekend. Maybe it was my lack of already printed good pictures. But I had the time to scrap and I opted to not use one of my weekly passes at Scrapbook Challenges. Who knows when I would needed it. Right??!!!
In addition, I wanted badly to use this beautiful paper from Jillibean Soup, which I got from my 3 Scrappy Boys March Trio kit. The theme of my layout was inspired in the Jillibean die cut. "Grandma's never runs out of hugs or cookies". I substituted cookies for candy at the Jillibean die cut.
I always scrapbook about the sweet memories, this was a great opportunity to scrapbook about the not so good stories or better stated the real life stories.
This layout documents one of my eternal battles with my parents which is the huge availability of candies, lollipops and chocolate at my parents's house.
Sometimes my kids eat so much candy at the expense of a healthy meal, when my kids stay there on friday's night or during the weekend. I try to not buy candy to my kids so frequently, since the holidays and the society makes sure that kids eat candy all the year. Saint Valentine, Easter, Halloween, Christmas and all the candy included in the favor bags for every birthday celebration they are invited is more than sufficient for their yearly intake.
Fortunately, I gave up, and now I oversight it. No matter what I say, my mom will buy candy at her house and everyone is free to eat as they please. I grew up that way too!!! She will not change and I do not want her to change. Therefore, if mom and my kids are happy, then I am happy. I just make sure the rest of the weekend they eat healthy meals and they brush their teeth daily.
For the record, my kids visit the dentist every 6 months and as of today, they do not have cavities. LOL! I remind myself this is what is truly important!
And now, I need to go! Need to prepare dinner!
See you later!
