My Little Boy

I continue working with old photos from my kids. This layout shows wallet photos from May 2006. I chose an old collection from Webster's Pages to scrap my little boy cuddling the bear. The decision was taken as soon I saw the bear's drawing in the patterned paper.

The blue tag is from the retired manufacturer Autumn Leaves (Foofala) Do you remember them? They were one of my favorite companies at the time. The tag shows a baby boy quote.

Love collecting Prima Marketing packaging as prove by the cartoon used to mat the photos. Love that it  is rugged shaped.

This is the third layout I create using Webster's Pages. My love for this manufacturer is starting to grow as I feel less intimidated by its beauty and I starting to know it better.

Love how this collection combines with the button, star shaped doily and ribbon from Purple Pumpkin. Like that Samantha creates beautiful vintage embellishments too.

This layout was inspired in the last sketch from Scrapbook Challenges (sketch #243). For more takes in this beautiful sketch created by designer Amanda Pace do not forget to visit the Scrapbook Challenges ning site.

See you tomorrow with the next reveal of Scrapbookers Anonymous and my debut project from Leave a Paper Trail Kit club. Hope to surprise you with what paper collection I had been working!

Please remember that you have time to participate at the Love Lyrics challenge at The (Paper) Trail Makers challenge blog (due March 5). Who knows if by participating you are the next Guest designer?

See you soon!

Hugs to You

When I was pregnant of my second child I felt guilty with Luis. I was not sure if I could be able to share all the love and time I had with Luis with a second baby. Time proves me wrong. He adapted very well by sharing his mommy time with his baby brother. It was not easy to him and for me. Right now, life is incomplete without Diego. Therefore I had to scrap one of those many hugging moments when I was almost nine months pregnant before sharing Luis's mommy time. (Date: December 28, 2005).

Journaling says: it felt so good to hug you. I was expecting my second child. I just wanted to enjoy you the most I could before sharing my time with you and Diego.

This layout was inspired in the last sketch from Sketchabilities (sketch #42). Love all the sketches made by Karan.

Come on over and play with us!

This layout was created with a mix of Basic grey Hopscotch (patterned paper and bloomers) and Sassafras Count me In (patterned paper and stickers) and Crush (background frame patterned paper). Love how well these lines combine together. The felt embellishments are from Basic Grey Sugar Rush. The rhinestones are from My Mind's Eye fine and dandy tickled pink bling. "Hugs to You" sentiment belongs to My Pink Stamper stamp set "Everyday Life".

See you soon! I will share several scrapbook layouts just waiting for the reveal day!

Throwdown Scrapbook Layouts

Today, I am sharing the three layouts I submitted to the 2nd Annual Throwdown at Memorable Seasons.

The challenge for week 1 required a layout with clean lines centered and balanced. I submitted the following layout titled "Hollywood".

For my layout, I mat three photos in a row. Webster's patterns are so busy that it did not need much. Then I applied Prima and Maya Road flowers, the alphabet and that it is. So simple!!

Pictures show me during my honeymoon at Universal Studios California (2001). It was my second time working with Webster Pages patterned papers. I admit I was a little intimidate. I am keeping these beautiful papers for all my Universal Studios pictures.

For the 2nd week, the main ingredient was to use all patterned papers for the page including matting. To use a pinch of stitching and a dash of sparkle or bling somewhere on the page. Here is the layout, I submitted for the second week:

From The Top

My layout includes only patterned paper from Fancy Pants 'Hot Chocolate'. I combined this challenge with the sketch from Jen Gallagher at Two Peas. I stitched twine to the scallop border. The sparkle and glitter are included in the blue rhinestone snowflake and red glitter brad.

The current challenge at The Paper Variety requires to create a project using stitching. If you have some recent project with stitches, I strongly recommend to submit over there for the random prize of a beautiful October Afternoon kit.

Pictures show me enduring the cold at the top of Mount Pilatus (2003). A breathtaking view too, for sure.

For the 3rd week, the challenge was to have some white space, use misting, use a mask and doodling.

Play Everyday

For this one, I chose a sketch from Sketchabilities (sketch #40). My mask was a diecut from Lily bee Designs. I applied orange mist and then traced the border with orange marker and black pen (doodling). Supplies are from Fancy Pants "It's Your day". The chipboard pieces like the hearts and Every Day title are from Fancy Pants too but older collections. These are everyday pictures of my two son playing at the back yard.

Last Friday was the start of Week #4 challenge for total of seven challenges. Looking forward to more time to play at them!!!

If you have time to scrap this weekend, do not forget to check the "Use Your Stash" challenge at Scrapbookers Anonymous (due on monday), and the fabulous sketches from Sketchabilities and Scrapbook Challenges. Lots of inspiration along the way!!!!

On the personal note, I am so happy this afternoon, we will have lunch with friends. And on sunday, we will go to another birthday party. It will be a busy but fun weekend for sure!

Wishing a wonderful weekend too!

Por ti Volare...Challenge 2 at The (Paper) Trail Makers Challenge Blog

This layout was created for the Challenge Two on the The (Paper) Trail Makers Challenge blog.

I chose this song instead of the beautiful song by Lionel Ritchie for the personal meaning to me.

"Por ti Volare" by Andrea Bocelli was our wedding processional song instead of the traditional song by Wagner. This beautiful song really feeds my song. Every time I hear it, it just brings me sweet memories of my dear husband and my wedding day.

Love how this layout turned out. It was based on a Page maps sketch from Pink Paislee blog. The pink and yellow roses are fussy cuts from "Sweetness - Picture Perfect" patterned paper.

Everything is included in the beautiful February "The Paper Trail" kit except the "por ti" letters which are from my stash (Sassafras).

Here are some close-ups:

Pop-up dots were used under the fussy cut leaves and roses for adding dimension.

Some butterflies were punched from "Sweetness-Picture Perfect" patterned paper.

Hope I've inspired you to go and create a layout!  Please remember to keep tuned at The (Paper) Trail Makers Challenge blog for more inspiration with the Love Lyrics challenge using the gorgeous Pink Paislee Sweetness kit

You do not have to use the kit to participate in the challenge. You will have until March 5 to link your project! Can't wait to see what you create!

Thanks for stopping by!

Por ti Volare (Spanish Lyrics)
Cuando vivo solo
sueño un horizonte
falto de palabras.
En la sombra y entre luces
todo es negro para mi mirada
Si tu no estás junto a mí . . .aquí.

en tu mundo
separado del mio por un abismo.
yo volaré
a tu mundo lejano.

Por ti volaré
espera que llegaré
mi fin de trayecto eres tú
para vivirlo los dos.

Por ti volaré
por cielos y mares
hasta tu amor.
Abriendo los ojos por fin
contigo viviré.

Cuando estás lejana
sueño un horizonte
falto de palabras.
Y yo sé que simpre estás ahí, ahí,
una luna hecha para mí,
siempre iluminada para mí,
por mí, por mí, por mí . . .

Por ti volaré
espera que llegaré
mi fin de trayecto eres tú
contigo yo viviré.

Por ti volaré
por cielos y mares
hasta tu amor.
Abriendo los ojos por fin
contigo yo viviré.

Por ti volaré
por cielos y mares
hasta tu amor.
Abriendo los ojos por fin
contigo yo viviré.
Por ti volaré . . .

Have a wonderful day!

with my cousin

Hi! Happy President's day! First of all, I want to give thanks to all my friends that visited me and took from their time to write so lovely comments. This means so much to me!!

Sorry, If had not replied, last week was very busy for me! I was barely at home. Looking forward to my normal routine this week. Thanks again!

I am back with another scrapbook layout created with the last sketch from Scrapbook Challenges (sketch #242). This one was created by awesome designer Cheryl Whittaker.
I rotated the sketch clockwise! The squares and heart elements were replaced by the blue and green scallop shape squares. The birdhouse banner replaces the flourish and the title was repositioned below the picture instead of the side.

The picture shows Luis with his cousin Kelvin at grandma's backyard at South Jersey. They met in Puerto Rico, the summer of 2009, when Kelvin came along with my in-laws. They were very happy to see each other once again.

I used several collections from Jillibean Soup, "Old World Cabbage Stew" and "Pasta Fagioli". The journaling die cut is from Jillibean Soup too "Kraft collection". The scallop shape flower belongs to the packaging from Jillibean Soup corrugated shapes.

I loved so much the bird banner from the beautiful card, lovely Patti did for the last The Paper Variety challenge (card sketch). That I had to do one banner for myself. Thanks so much Patti!!

If you submit a project inspired in this sketch to the Scrapbook Challenges site, you could be randomly selected to win a prize or be in the spotlight for the Gallery Gems or Pick of the Week.

I hope you will stop on by Scrapbook Challenges and play along with us this week!

Card Sketch at The Paper Variety

Hi! So happy to share my first card from 2011. I am not a card maker, so every card I make it is a challenge for me. Just to determine the measurements and making all the elements to balance does not comes natural to me as creating a 12X12 layout.

However, the card sketch provided by lovely Abby was easy to follow:

This one was created for Valentine's day. Love the combination from the pink damask patterned paper from Glitz "Love nest" collection combined with SU! River Rock cardstock and ribbon, rose shaped metal brads by Dear Lizzy and cardstock stickers from Tim Holtz.

Here it is the the fabulous sketch:

You should check the fabulous samples made by the design team. Love the variety of elements and colors and styles. The lucky person chosen randomly will get this fabulous kit from Citrus Tree Studio donated by Patti West. Love Jillibean Soup products and this is so perfect for spring!!!

Let's get started!!!! Link up your projects at The Paper Variety before Sunday night for a chance to have your project / blog featured and before Tuesday at noon to be entered to win this beautiful kit.

See you tomorrow!!

Smile and Love

Hi! Yesterday was the reveal of sketch 241 from Scrapbook Challenges! February is featuring sketches by four different Scrapbook Challenges designers. This sketch was created by the very talented Shannon Dombkowski.

Here it is:

Most of my pictures are already printed at 4"X6" size. Therefore I chose one landscape photo instead of three wallet photos. The picture shows me and Diego taking a walking rest from our visit to Old San Juan (October 2, 2010). We were at one of the many plazas (Juan Ponce de Leon) found in this historical city. It was a nice, peaceful, but still too warm october morning. Love family's dates when there is no schedule!!!

Love this collection of Glitz Love Nest. Love that papers are already distressed. So happy to finally use the hand made flowers by Tessa Buys (Precocious Paper). The journaling note and calendar die cut are from Elle's Studio. The Smile sticker is from KI Memories. The cork was die cut with a die from SU! Big Top Note. The cream grosgrain pleated ribbon is from Maya Road. The blue rose metal brad is from Dear Lizzy. The love metal embellishment is from The Girls's Paperie.

I hope you play along with us this month! Do not forget to check all the fun and activity currently happening at the Scrapbook Challenges site!

Never Forget...Old San Juan

Hi! First of all, I want to say Happy Valentine's Day. Wishing everyone lot of opportunities to share quality time with your loved ones.

I want to give thanks to all my blogging friends too. To all the ones that once in a while stop by and take from their time to make a sweet comment. I really appreciate it a lot and encourages me to continue scrapping. Thanks again!

This month, Sketchabilities reveal is a day earlier. Today is the reveal for sketch #41. Karan provided us a wonderful sketch to work with again. Here it is:
Love multi-photo sketches. I chose these pictures from our weekend day trip to "Old San Juan" on October 2, 2010. We like to act as tourists at our own beloved city. Every time we go to the historical "Old San Juan" city we feel like we are at another country. We always feel "wonder" without exception when we visit this city.

I was itching to use this line of Basic Grey Curio. The beautiful patterns combines very well with the historical walls from Old San Juan. For many of the thin layers at the sketch, I used patterned border stickers mat with the brown cardstock instead of patterned paper. As a result, I created this layout in less than one hour. Love how this turned out.

Everything is from Basic Grey Curio, except the background paper (Basic Grey Basics Manila) and the chipboard letters (Making Memories).

Hope you can make time to play with this sketch, do not forget to submit your project before the 28th (next reveal)!

In addition, I have several layouts completed that I want to share with you this week, therefore I hope to see you soon!

Have a wonderful day!

"Love Letters" Challenge at The (Paper) Trail Makers Challenge

This week challenge is all about "Love Letters". We want you to do a recipe challenge. You will pick a minimum of 4 of the ingredients that are spelled with the letters from "Love Letters" and use those on your projects. It can be a scrapbook layout, card or altered item. You can use more than 4 if you would like, but you must use at least 4 to qualify for our drawing at the end of the month for a fabulous stamp set from "My Pink Stamper".

Lace (can be trim or doily or lace paper)
Oval shaped item

Edge Punch (ie. border punch)
Electronic die cutting machine

You will have until 5pm EST on Saturday, February 19 to post your project to Mr. Linky and participate in the random drawing of a stamp set from "My Pink Stamper".

Here is my take in the challenge using the beautiful February kit from Leave a Trail:

My recipe:

  • L is for Lace (white doily)
  • E is for Edge Punch (the blue strip of paper with the scallop punch)
  • T is for Tag ( the tag is on the top of the roses patterned paper)
  • T is for Trim (the Maya Road trim stitched around the white paper doily)
  • R is for Ribbon (the rose ribbon attached to the tag)
  • S is for Stamp (sentiment from My Pink Stamper Everyday set)
Here are a few close-ups of my page using February's The Paper Trail kit:

The background of my page is one piece of kraft cardstock (included in the kit) with Pink Paislee "Love Blooms" patterned paper.

First, I applied yellow mist to the kraft cardstock. Then I attached the scallop shape strip blue paper and the fussy cut of roses. The picture was mat with the B side of "Love Blooms" patterned paper.

Love the contrast that white doilies make against the kraft cardstock, therefore I just attached this beautiful white Prima flower included in February's The Paper Trail kit.

To create the circle element with the heart border. I cut the big doily from Pink Paislee "Paper Heart" diecut paper. I cut approximately a 3.5" diameter circle from the packaging from the canvas borders. Applied liquid glue to the carton border and then attached the fussy cut hearts.

I attached the fabric red doily and button from Purple Pumpkin.

The tag includes three letters from the recipe challenge (Tag, Stamp and Ribbon). Super easy!!! The beautiful sentiment is from My Pink Stamper "Everyday Set".

This layout was created with sketch #240 from Scrapbook Challenges. Picture shows us one week previous our wedding on June, 2001. So happy that this year we will celebrate our 10th anniversary! Ten years full of love and beautiful memories!

Looking forward to seeing what you create with this challenge! Remember, to participate in the challenges you can use any of your supplies. It does not need to belong to "Leave a Trail" kit club.

Thanks for stopping by!

50 years from now

Today, I am sharing my sixth layout created with the 3 Scrappy Boys Trio Kit from February. Everything is from the kit except the glimmer mist and the journaling pen.

Believe me I still have embellishments leftover, to create one additional layout and possibly 2 or 3 cards. Loved working with this kit.

I was inspired in the current sketch at Sketch Inspiration, 3 Scrappy Boys Journaling challenge, and the journaling prompts at Scrap Fit, workout #37 Dream a Little Dream.

This layout is about my life's dream.

Journaling: 50 years from now.. I dream to see my family picture. I want to see my kids growing up. I want to see their life fulfilled and feeling content. I want to see them married and stable. I want to see my grandchildren, I want to hear and see my grandchildren laugh. I want to see my family happy 50 years from now. (Picture date: May 21, 2010).

My Heart is Bursting at the Seams

Hi! Monday means a new sketch at Scrapbook Challenges! Today we have sketch #240. It was created by Design Team Member Natalie!! Loved this sketch, here it is:

I created this layout with 3ScrappyBoys Trio Kit from February. Love the combination of Fancy Pants Lilac House with Pink Paislee Sweetness. Everything is from the kit except the wood frame that can be found in 3ScrappyBoys store.

On this layout, I used photos of us when we lived in Italy. Not sure about the date, but it was in 2003. The photo shows Portofino coast and the setting was Hotel Continental  from Santa Maria Liguria at Italy. It is a very romantic place which I will love to return someday...

I am submitting this layout to the current Paper Issues (birds, bees and butterflies).

This is another layout (my design) created with a combination of Pink Paislee Sweetness and American Crafts.

Love the red/turquoise combination. Layout shows a christmas picture from my family (December 24, 2007). But this layout is not about christmas. It has a love letter dedicated to my mom, dad and my two beloved sisters inside the Maya Road envelope. Everything is from 3ScrappyBoys Trio Kit from February.

This is everything for now!!

3ScrappyBoys Kit Club ***February 2011

Last month, I received a request from Heather, the owner of 3ScrappyBoys to be her guest designer for February. You cannot imagine my excitement!!! I love her kits, her well stocked store, the friendly community and the gorgeous gallery.

My excitement increased exponentially when she sent to me the February Trio Kit to work with containing papers from Cosmo Cricket Circa 1934, American Crafts, Pink Paislee Sweetness, My Minds Eye and Fancy Pants Lilac House. And lots, lots of gorgeous embellishments from Maya Road, Tim Holtz and the list goes on and on...

This is what I created with the 3ScrappyBoys Trio Kit:

A Special Kind of Love
Diego striking a funny pose with his Mickey sun glasses and Think 2 Hat (2010).
Sketch 1.27 from Sketchy Thursdays. Supplies: 3ScrappyBoys February 2011 Trio Kit.

Happy at Heart
Pictures show us celebrating Luis's Kindergarten graduation on May 21, 2010. Love when manufacturers make love's theme scrapbook supplies without screaming St Valentines Day everywhere. Love the combination of Pink Paislee, Cosmo Cricket and American Crafts.
Supplies: 3ScrappyBoys February 2011 Trio Kit.

Nike of Samothrace
Love the Fancy Pant Lilac House and My Minds Eye combination. I was inspired to create a travel page and decided to scrap this photos from our visit to the Louvre museum. Nike of Samothrace is one of my favorite sculptures.
Sketch #102 from The Scrappiest.
Supplies: 3ScrappyBoys February 2011 Trio Kit. Elle's Studio "Photograph Notes can be found at the 3ScrappyBoys store also.

Heather, thank you so much for having me!

During the month, I will continue creating with this kit since I still have a pair of papers untouched and lots, lots of embellishments for 3+ more layouts.

Do not forget to check 3ScrappyBoys shop for the current clearance sale and the gallery for more inspiration.

Good evening!

All Girls * The Paper Variety

Hi! Today is reveal day at The Paper Variety! Our request is to create a project using this photo as inspiration. You can create a project (card, layout or altered item using hearts, soft colors or the sentiments "Love", "I Hope", "Angel" etc. The sky is the limit!!! Lovely!!!

The sponsor for this week challenge is Apron Strings Designs.

The lucky person chosen randomly will get this beautiful kit with Echo Paper and American Crafts supplies:
I chose to do a layout with the beautiful patterns from Sassafras Lass "Count Me In" collection. I wanted to feature the "polka polka" patterned paper. For my project, I used a sketch from Shimelle Laine. The yellow flower is from Prima Marketing Inc.

Picture dates from the last time we went to the states (August 2, 2010).
Journaling: "Together are all my children female cousins. We would love so much to live near them, so all of us can grow together".

It breaks my heart, that my children have eight (8) cousins living in the United States. All of them lives together at not more than ten (10) miles distance, and we can not see them frequently. I feel my kids are losing this life opportunity to play together with their cousins. My hopes is that "some day" life presents itself a great opportunity to be together while they are still young. My girls: I miss all of you!!

The (Paper) Trail Makers February 2011 Kit Reveal

Today, I am sharing this scrapbook layout created with The (Paper) Trail Makers February 2011 kit which reveals today.

The Trail Makers kit makes the designing so fun and easy. I really love all the gorgeous product in the kit.

The details of my "Love & Sweetest Moment" layout are as follow:
  • Cut 1/4" from two of the sides of the "Sweetest Day" patterned paper and glued to one piece of kraft cardstock that came in "The Paper Trail "kit. I love kraft cardstock and it made my day to see not one but two pieces of kraft cardstock inside the "The Paper Trail" kit.
  • Before gluing the patterned paper, ink the paper borders with brown ink and distressed the paper.
  • The flower section was fussy cut too and attached to the cardstock with pop-up dots to add dimension.
  • Add one Prima flower that came in the "The Paper Trail" kit in the lower section from my layout.

  • Cut the white / brown doily from the hearts die cut paper and attach it between the photo and the flowers.
  • Use a small glue dot to attach the beautiful Jenni Bowling pearl button included in the "The Paper Trail" kit in the doily's center.
  • The pink lace comes from a piece of Pink Paislee "Pretty Lace" pattern paper and it was added on top of the flowers's pattern for balance.

  • Cut the hot pink pattern from "Sweetness clear cards" with scissors.
  • Attach the clear card with the green cardstock and soft yellow ribbon at the background.
  • Add one beautiful butterfly at the side of the clear card sentiment.

  • Take the packaging included with the canvas borders. They have the same soft pink pattern as the "Sweetest Day" paper.
  • Punch the packaging with a heart shaped punch.
  • The sentiment "love" was stamped using the so versatile "My Pink Stamper" Everyday Life with brown ink.
Love very much creating with this stamp set. I know I will use it very often, since the sentiments can be applied to so many things. Thanks so much to My Pink Stamper for this great stamp set!!!

Looking for pictures, I found out this photo from my wedding day. It was not taken from a professional photographer, but by my mom making this picture more special. This is my favorite picture from the thousand pictures taken that day. I love it, because it is candid and reflects this sweetest and happiest moment.

This kit is amazing, go to The (Paper) Trail Makers to check it out for yourself. There are only a few left!! I will be sharing more projects that I have created using this kit soon.

Happy Scrappin'

We want you to show your XXXXXXXXXXXX's.

Scrapbookers Anonymous February 2011 challenge is a unique one and I'm sure you will love it as much as we do. =) You all have lots of these letters left over in your stash and what letter would that be??? well, to celebrate the month of love, it is the letter X. Yes, you heard that right. The letter X. The challenge is to use as many X's as possible. The more the better is our motto.

I just went literally simple! I knew I wanted to use the XOXO title. Then I had these beautiful papers from Sassafras at my desk. I searched for the meaning of XOXO at the internet: "Hugs & Kisses". Then, I found this photo from my two sons hugging me. My kids are all over me a great time of the day.

Diego is my kitten, literally, it likes to hugs me around my legs, especially when he is looking for something. I am not kidding! Most of the time I enjoy it, once in a while it can be overwhelmed!! I am enjoying this stage of life, right now! I know they will grow up and will be more independent!! LOL!

Supplies are from Sassafras Lass "Count me In". I used sketch #99 from The Scrappiest.

And, this month's prize is of course LOVE themed...=)  You will get a lovely paper pack from My Minds Eye called Love Me Do, 3 rolls of American Crafts valentine ribbon, Making Memories red alphabets, some rubons, and other fun embellies. Oh.. and a 6x6 pad of Nikki Sivils paper, great for card making. =) Wow!!! This is a lot of goodies!!!! For a picture, check Scrapbookers Anonymous post.

So, show us what you can do with your X's. To submit for the February challenge, you must have your layout submitted at Scrapbookers Anonymous February Challenge by 9pm on February 28th at 9pm EST.

Please come play with us.  =)
