A new sketch is up at Sketchabilities. This is sketch #37. I know, everyone is busy as typical from the christmas season, but you should not miss the beautiful christmas layouts done by the Design Team. And maybe you can treat yourself, with some very needed "me" time and endulge yourself creating with this layout sketch done by Karan Gerber!
When I saw this sketch with the trees as embellishments, I thought christmas. Then when I did a fast search through my christmas photos file, I found these ones from December, 2009. I had also the new line from Basic Grey Pyrus on my table. The color from the photos were so similar to the Pyrus collection, that mojo started to flow!!
Therefore, I decided to do a Nativity scrapbook layout. It is a family tradition to go to "San Patricio Plaza" at Guaynabo, Puerto Rico for the living nativity booth. We go every christmas to this place. My kids love it, since they can feed the goats, rabbits and chickens. We enjoy it too!
Here is my take on the sketch:
Supplies are from Paper Posies Kit Club November 2010. Everything is from Basic Grey Pyrus except the alphas (thickers), the metal brad and the ribbon. The palm tree was manually drawn and handcut. Without having a Cricut cartridge from a palm tree, I liked the result. The background is a kraft cardstock painted all over with brown mist. I am submitting this layout to The Kraft Journal.
I want to include in this post another christmas layout created with a sketch from Julie Bonner. This is Diego posing with the Christmas tree on December 23, 2009. Supplies are from The Scrap-Room Kit Club, December 2010 kit. Page kit is from Basic Grey Jovial! I added the red poinsettias, green brad and pearl button. The alphabet is from Girls' Paperie!
This is everything for now! Wishing you to enjoy this holiday!! Hoping that you can take some time to play!
