Summer 1973


This is me, on August, 1973, at a beach in the island of Taboga, Panama. I gathered some facts, to help me have a bigger perspective,  of events occurring at the time, this photo was taken. Many of the history facts from Summer 1973, belongs to Wikipedia.
  • Me: 11 months
  • Peter: 4 years
  • Mom: 22 years
  • Dad: 23 years
  • Mother-in-law: 24 years
  • Father-in-law: 38 years
  • I live in Panama with my family, at a US Military Base. I am the only daughter.
  • Peter lives with his family at Puerto Rico. Wendie was born on 1973. Peter has three sisters.
  • Rafael Hernandez Colon was governor of Puerto Rico.
  • Just two months later (October, 1973), started the oil crisis, when the members of Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries or the OAPEC proclaimed an oil embargo during the Yom Kippur war, it lasted until March, 1974.
  • 1973: Puerto Rico was wracked by recession, induced by the oil crisis. Since Puerto Rico economy was highly dependent in oil, ie. Corco. Has we learned from this experience?
  • Roberto Clemente was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1973.
  • Richard Nixon is president of United States of America
  • July 16: Watergate Scandal
  • July 21: Philippines wins miss Universe title.
